【NewYork】半端ではない豪華さ！ニューヨーク市立図書館

　五番街沿いに一際目に付く豪華な石造り建物・・・それがニューヨーク市立図書館です。写真のとおり、その威容は従来の図書館のイメージを超えます。しかも市立・・・すなわち公共の図書館です。エントランスに入ると、そこは静寂の世界。警備員が入場者のバックの中をチェックし、建物内に入場。公共図書館なので、入場はもちろん無料！

廊下と階段は、もはや威厳を誇る教会のよう・・・

階段を上ると、壁画！　もはや宮殿です。

図書館の閲覧室は、市民が読書やパソコンで勉強をしています。

閲覧室の天井は、写真右のとおり。トイレに行く通路は、この有様です。

こんな図書館で毎日、読書／仕事をしたい・・・・図書館が大好きな私には、衝撃的でした。
